Meet Chris

Chris Rodeno was born and raised in Encinitas, California. His abstract expressionist style is fueled by his constant rediscovery of art.

As a student, Chris enjoyed doodling in notebooks and on classwork. He spent hours focusing on angles and geometry in graphite. In adult years, Chris developed his eye through life experience and travel. Being born with vision only in his right eye, Chris continued to push through barriers that life set out. Chris's determination to make art, prevailed itself over a lack of vision. The resulting artwork describes inner and external collisions of darkness and light.

Rodeno pulls the viewer into a two-dimensional world of color and light. The observer sees both the angst and vibrancy of life with vision in one eye. In development stages of artwork, Rodeno reinvents himself through a meditative state. His inspiration comes from music and innovations of texture and process. Space on each canvas displays repetition and vacancy. This technique of mirror and mute pulls the viewer into Chris's reality.
